Thank you to Lucie and Monique for the invitation to judge at your show, it was a real pleasure to accept.  Thankyou to everyone for making Gerard and myself so welcome.   The venue was lovely, the weather very kind to us (I even got sunburnt in the afternoon!) and as always the organisation at the show was amazing.  It was great to see so many different breeds enjoying working.  Training rounds in both Novice and A were well used.  And, I even got to see a windmill working.   I look forward to seeing you all again soon.  Best of luck to all competitors in the championship show in a couple of weeks time.

1e   Greet Vink met Kyrill v.Berlare.    Border Collie.     Lost 9 1/2 pts.

Kyrill is a beautifully trained young dog in very capable hands.  Good set exercises.  Most points lost today on crooked sits and slight drifting in heelwork.  I look forward to watching him mature and seeing him in the higher classes.  Congratulations on a well deserved win and good luck for the future.

2e   Rose Dewulf met Bekkis Yours Faithfully.     Border Collie.    Lost 10 pts.

A lovely keen worker who held it together very well today and was very unlucky to meet Kyrill today.  I'm sure you will soon win out of Novice on todays showing.  Good set exercises.  Main faults were not quite completing the left turns and losing position coming out of the about turns.    Congratulations and best of luck.

3e   Anda de Baerdemaeker met Fjurdyhoeve Djinfaye.   Border Collie.   Lost 10 1/2 pts.

Well done on your third place today.  Another dog with very good set exercises.   Points lost today for drifting in heelwork, not quite finishing the left turns and crooked sits.   A dog capable of winning novice.

4e   Karola Beckers met Daisy Dee Flower of Shamrock Field.    Border Collie.    Lost 13 pts.    Run off.

Another team capable of winning novice and a few silly points lost today cost you a higher placing, be careful of the lead going tight.  Recall and about turns in heelwork were costly today.   Best of luck.

5e   Lucie van de Casteele met G.B van Benvenida's Joy.   Border Collie.   Lost 13 pts.   Run off.

WOW - best heelwork of the day.  G.B is very stylish but accurate and maintains a straight heelwork position.  Slight hiccup with the finish on the recall and stays unfortunately cost you a higher place.  I'm sure in your capable hands, and as he matures the stays will be sorted.  I look forward to seeing you in the higher classes.  Best of luck for the future.

6e   Martine Verhoeven met Fouzywouzy from Imkes Friends.   Border Collie.   Lost 13 1/2 pts.

Hesitation in heelwork turns, a tight lead (once) and crooked sits were costly today.  A good team who just need to have more confidence in the ring.   Best of luck.

7e   Adrienne Zuidweg met Banjer.   Border Collie.   Lost 14 1/2 pts.

A good day for Adrienne and Banjer who were also placed 4th in Beginners.  Banjer just needs a little more commitment in the heelwork with most marks lost for wides and dropping back occassionally, and work on the presents.  Good luck and have confidence in each other.

Thankyou to Bernou for doing a great job of stewarding, I hope you enjoyed it!  And thankyou to Ingrid on the scoreboard, the organisation makes everything run so smoothly.   I was treated to a lovely variety of breeds to judge, and it was lovely to see dogs and handlers enjoying their time in the ring.  I must mention two training rounds that really impressed me - firstly Henk and Britt and also Karen and Dyna - good handling and lovely attitudes from both dogs that show great promise for the future.

1e  Annelies van de Velde met Di-Luka.    Working Sheepdog.    Lost 9 1/2 pts.     Run off.

A very well trained dog and nice clean handling - a lovely round of heelwork, which was repeated in the run off.   A naughty scent meant a run off for first place.  Congratulations and best of luck for the future.

2e  Melissa Vercauter met Demma of the Action Farm.   Tervuerense Herder.    Lost 9 1/2 pts.   Run off.

What a great day you had also winning 'B' and very nearly doing the double!   A very steady heelwork dog.  Retrieve was the weakest exercise today.  Congratulations and best of luck for the future.

3e  Rose Dewulf met Bekkis Yours Faithfully.   Border Collie.    Lost 12 1/2 pts.    Run off.

Congratulation Rose on places in both Novice and 'A' - the red cards should soon be yours.  Work on maintaining the heelwork position coming out of the turns.  Retrieve and scent were your weakest exercises today and cost you a higher place.  Best of luck for the future.

4e  Nicky Spengler met Elegant Maxel O'the Little Lodge.   Sheltie.    Lost 12 1/2 pts.    Run off.

Congratulations on having two dogs in the cards.   A very smart team who have the ability to win.  As with the above dogs retrieve was expensive today, with mouthing also marked in scent. Other marks lost for slight drifting in heelwork.  Best of luck.

5e  Karola Beckers met Gwendeline of Shamrockfield.   Border Collie.   Lost 13 1/2 pts.

Another team having a good day, also placed in 'B'.  A team proving they are very capable and with just a little more commitment in all the exercises the wins cannot be far away.   Best of luck for the future.

6e  Nicky Spengler met Dawnville High Hopes of Davy.   Sheltie.   Lost 15 pts.

Another well trained dog who knows what is required, but just needs to be a little stronger in the heelwork.  Presents need alittle work too.  Congratulations and best of luck.

7e  Rineke Smit met Tika Jillaroo Uluru.   Australian Kelpie.   Lost 16 pts.

Lovely to have a Kelpie in the lineup, I love their zest for life!  Sits and finishes need some work as they were very costly today.  Attention to the heelwork, tidying up the turns and you will be the other end of the lineup.  Marks lost in scent for pecking and dropping a cloth.  Best of luck.

Thankyou to Annemarie for great stewarding and Ruth for a great job on the scoreboard.  Both of you made my job so much easier.  The scent exercise generally was messy with a lot of dogs pecking cloths, but part of this may be because the wind kept changing direction.  The best scent of the day was by Henk and Britt, very confident.

Thank you to all the competitors, and all that helped at the show.   I hope you all have a very successful 2008 and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
