A big thank you to Trudy and the committee of the Dutch Obedience Society for their fabulous hospitality and opportunity to judge at their show today. Many thanks to Trudy for letting me stay in her home and Gwen for chauffeuring.
A special thank you must go to Danielle, Ineke and Margreet for doing a great job of stewarding and for being such good company. Also thankyou to all the helpers, stay stewards and scoreboard stewards for making the job run smoothly and keeping me topped up with hot drinks.
Finally thank you to all competitors for making the atmosphere so good around the ring, I really enjoyed the day, it was a pleasure to judge so many happy dogs and owners plus a chance to see some different breeds working.
Now to the results:-
PRE BEGINNERS
1st. Jeannette Smits with UNCOURTLY JUTTER. Welsh Corgi- Losing 4.5.
Jutter absolutely worked his socks off to get this place. Fabulous attention and a neat recall and I believe his first time competing. Congratulations and well done.
2nd. Gerda Pluijm with BOBBY. Bernese mountain Dog. – Losing 9.5.
Some nice heelwork in places but really need to get him motivated to keep him with you. A good effort I know you worked hard.
3rd. Angelina Waayop with FLOW. Border Collie – Losing 11.
A very steady heelwork round from this pair just a little wide on the turns. Unfortunately a broken sit stay lost you a higher place but well done.
BEGINNERS
1st. Elly Gebraad with ESPERANZA NOA MERZA. Gos d’Atura Catala. -Losing 5.
This team produced some really stylish heelwork with Noa staying close and focused on his work. Fabulous attitude. Just a few crooked sits but good recall and retrieve. Congratulations on your win. Well done I am sure he will win more.
2nd. Heidi Demon with BONNIEBLUE GODARCY. Border Collie. Losing 6.5.
A nice steady round from this team, just a little wide in places a clear recall but a crooked sit on retrieve. Otherwise well done.
3rd. Catharina van Klaveren with MAZZEL. Nova Scotia DuckToller. Losing 8.
Another stylish round from this pair but you need to work Mazzel a little closer as he tends to drift a little especially on turns. Good Sets. Well done.
4th. Joke Prins with BIRCA. Australian Shepherd. Losing 9.
Good attention from Birca but needs to tighten up on turns and abouts plus jumping up on occasions lost him a higher place. Otherwise a good try.
5th. Pascale van Oppen with SUNSHINE MISTER FLINT. Nova Scotia Duck Toller. Losing 11.
Flint produced some really nice heelwork today very attentive with just a few wide turns and abouts. Unfortunately his recall let him down today. But really well done.
6th. Carstien Dreesman with SNOOPY DREESMAN. Beagle. Losing 19.5.
Really nice attention from Snoopy in his heelwork but tends to lag a little on turns. Extra sit on retrieve, mum going in the wrong direction and a broken down stay lost him a higher place today. Well done.
7th. Gerda Pluijm with BOBBY. Bernese Mountain Dog. – Losing 21.
Once again nice heelwork in places but drifting and losing position lost him marks. A very good effort especially as Bobby is such a big dog with a mind of his own at times. Do keep trying with him.
NOVICE
1st. Marjan van Elst with ME AND MY BEST FRIEND OLE McFEE. Border Collie. Losing 4.
A lovely steady round from this team, with Ole holding a close attentive position throughout his heelwork. Good sets too just slight anticipation on retrieve, otherwise very well done and congratulations on your win. I am sure he will win a lot more soon. Good Luck.
2nd. (ARO) Anja Pagter with OLYMPIC EYES OFFA FROM LETS BORDER. Border Collie. Losing 4.5
Offa produced some nice heelwork today despite his mum being slightly nervous. Just lagging at times on the abouts and a crooked present on retrieve. Much better in the run off. Well done.
3rd. (ARO) Karola Beckers with DAISY DEE FLOWER OF SHAMROCKFIELD. Border Collie. Losing 4.5
Another good team in contention today, producing some lovely heelwork, again losing position slightly, especially on the left turns. Clear retrieve and recall. Crooked sit in the run off lost you a higher place today. Well done.
4th. (ARO) Martine Verhoeven with FOUZYWOUZY FROM IMKES FRIEND. Border Collie. Losing 4.5.
Fouzy produced some nice heelwork today just losing attention at times and a couple of wide about turns. Clear retrieve and recall. Unfortunately he decided to do his own round in the run off - full of beans !. Well done.
5th. José Flierman with SAATHI. Border Collie. Losing 5.5
Saathi worked a nice steady round today with good attention just losing momentum on the turns causing him to fall back. Also crooked present on recall but clear retrieve. Well done.
6th. (ARO) Anda de Baerdemaeker with FJURDYHOEVE DJINFAYE. Border Collie. Losing 6.
A very keen dog just tending to drift out of position occasionally, especially on turns but otherwise a nice round. Clear recall but crooked position in retrieve, however better in the run off to get this place. Well done.
7th. (ARO) Sandra Pierson with AKSO. Border Collie. Losing 6.
Akso produced some nice heelwork today but just tended to lose attention at times which cost him a higher place. Crooked sit also on retrieve. Good effort.
Worth a mention was Danielle Stoutjesdyk with Dazzle (Malinois) who was well in with a chance today producing some stunning heelwork. Just a shame he broke stays but good luck for the future
Thanks to all the competitors for entering and Good Luck for the rest of the season and 2009.
