Many thanks to Greet & Ed for the invite to judge for you again this year, it was wonderful to return and meet all the friends I made last year. Greet & Ed again accommodated Bob (Beesley) and Myself and the welcome, as last year was warm and sincere, I regard myself as being very lucky and priviledged to have been given the opportunity to return, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and we were very comfortable indeed. Thanks must also go to Walter & Ed for taking us to Brussels for the afternoon on Sunday, giving us the grand tour and then ensuring we didn’t miss our flight home.
I Judged two classes today and the standard in both was very good, although I was a little disappointed that some, who put in good rounds in the ring, fell by the wayside in stays and scent. The competitors (many of whom I feel I could call friend), gave us a very warm welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed and at times light hearted, Thanks to all of you for making this such an enjoyable day, I can’t wait to return again.
As last year the prize giving at the end was very enjoyable and all those there, even those not placed went home with a prize of some description in the draw at the end.
            And so to the results:

CLASS ‘A’:

RING STEWARD: Tiny Bouchaut.    SCOREBOARD: Lenie Huigh.

Many thanks to Tiny for stewarding for me today, after doing such a brilliant job for me last year I was very pleased to discover you were to steward for me today. You made my job so much easier as my Dutch isn’t quite up to scratch yet, although I am beginning to understand a little bit more. Thanks also to Lenie for looking after my scoreboard, because of the help of these two ladies all I had to do was judge.

1st Henk Eekman & BORDERS FOR JOY FREEDOM OF FAITH.(Faith).
Henk & Faith put in a round of undoubted quality to win this class today, all exercises were completed with out fuss and their heelwork was stunning and Henk’s handling was spot on. This is a team sure to progress and I look forward to reading about your progress on the Dutch obedience web site.
CONTRATULATIONS & GOOD LUCK.

2nd  Gino DeWitte & MY SWEET DEVILS EYE ENCKE. (Encke).
Gino’s handling style is very good and he knows how to get the best out of Encke, wides in heelwork and an untidy recall cost you the win today, but I’m sure you will iron out these minor faults and progress up the classes.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

3rd Ine Casteleijn & TWINKLES SWEET DARA. (Dara).
Dara decided today she couldn’t sit in heelwork, if you take away the 4 points lost for those non sits, they would have pushed the eventual winner all the way. It was a nice round to judge and a super scent helped you to gain this place.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

4th Elly Kooyman & ROUND ROBIN GHALIB. (Jamie).
It was nice to be able to judge Elly today, when I was here last year she was on holiday in England. I have known Elly several years and her handling as always was super, without the minor indiscretions in stays and scent they would have gone a lot closer. Another team sure to progress. Pass on my regards to Hans and tell him I’ll keep his Beer cold!!!
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

5th Martine Verhoeven & FOUZY WOUZY FROM IMKES FRIENDS. (Fouzy).
I like Fouzy and the way that Martine handles, I have judged this team before and getting 5th seems to be a habit, I wrote last year that wides were the biggest fault and this proved to be the case again today. That said this was still round worthy of a place.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

6th Marie-Christine Vanuxem & TAO THE TWO FACED DOG. (Tao).
This was one of those teams who’s indiscretion in stays cost them heavily, the ring work was of undoubted quality with only minor faults to mark, sort the stays and success should follow.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

7th Ellen Reijenga & ALLIANCE DE LA VIE BANTY’S DJINTHY. (Ginty).
Yet another team to see their chances disappear in the stay ring, sort the stays, tighten up the heelwork and recall. This was the only dog in this class to get a full point retrieve.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CLASS ‘C’.

RING STEWARD: Hans Bilius.    SCOREBOARD: Bennie Van De Casteele.
DECOY: Henny Bolleman.

Many thanks to Hans for stewarding this class for me today, your stewarding was faultless and very professional, your companionship was also greatly appreciated.
Thanks to Bennie for sorting out the scoreboard, organising the competitors and keeping my paperwork in order. Thanks must also go to Henny for acting as decoy when scent came round.

1st Greet Vink & SEALIGHT BORYCK.O.W. (Boryck).
Greet & Boryck look good and work well together, although entering the twilight of his obedience career Boryck made it look so easy and with Greet’s super handling they are more than a match for anyone, today’s result proving the point.
CONTRATULATIONS & GOOD LUCK.

2nd  Margreet Mijnsbergen & FLUER OF THE CHARMING STEAD. (Fluer).
Fluer is a golden with a bit of attitude, your heelwork was nice to watch and without the indiscretions in send away and Distant control you could easily have taken the red one.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

3rd  Pleun Van Der Ster & THISISBLIZZ OF ALBIONS MARCH. (Bliss)
Pleun’s straight forward, clean handling made for a very enjoyable round and with cleaner distant control who knows, tidy up a little for success.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

4th Greet Vink & KYRILL VAN BERLACE. (Kyrill)
I think this dog is something special, the mistakes made to today were few and minor and due I think to immaturity. Kyrill will progress to the highest level under Greet’s guidance I’m sure. Just give him time to mature and help him along where necessary.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

5th   Melissa Vercauter & DEMMA OF THE ACTION FARM. (Emma).
This team won my Novice last year and my how they have progressed, take away the missed position in heelwork and the silliness in retrieve and who knows. Keep up the good work, I will watch with interest.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

6th Tiny Bouchaut & TWINKLES KATHMICK. (Kathmick).
Tiny & Kathmick enjoyed their time in the ring and with a little more polish could have claimed a higher place. A nice scent completed the round, but then having a judge that stinks helped there!!!!! Thanks for the giggle, it was brilliant, your face was a picture.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

7th Dona Vandenheule & SKIPPERS LITTLE DEVIL SON. (Devil).
Your heelwork round was as good as you will see anywhere, unfortunately your set exercises let you down today, get those sorted and with your heelwork you should fly.
WELL DONE & GOOD LUCK.

Thanks once again to Greet & Ed for giving me some more wonderful memories, for looking after us so well and for the Invite to return next year, I’m already counting the days, and I look forward to seeing you both and the hopefully fit again Rick who was missing today at Lune Valley show in August, have a safe journey. Thanks must also go to Ed and his small band of stay stewards for a job well done.
Finally thanks to all competitors for not keeping me waiting, for entering under me and for accepting my decisions so sportingly.
Those who venture to England I hope you receive as warm a welcome here as I did in Holland and I look forward to seeing you all next year.
 Cheers Steve Rutter.
