First of all we would like to thank Martine Verhoeven and the D.O.S for inviting us over to Belgium to judge. We would also like to thank everyone who was involved with the running of the show; to the stewards, caller – scoreboard - stay and decoy’s you were all great, many thanks to you all. This is the first Obedience show held in Belgium for over 10 years (the first of many we hope) and we must say Martine and her helpers certainly know how to take care of their overseas judges, we were treated to lovely sunny weather, charming accommodation, good food and most of all the wine flowed freely - we can honestly say the Belgium’s certainly know how to have a good time, in truth we enjoyed ourselves so much we didn’t want to leave but have returned home with wonderful gifts and hope that one day we will be invited back to do it all again, many thanks for making our stay an enjoyable one – we had a great time with you all. CLASS: A 2nd Nicky Spengler with ELEGANT MAXEL O’THE LITTLE LODGE, Sheltie. Smart handler bringing out the best in her dog, altering position in heelwork the main fault today. Well done and good luck. 3rd Sandra Pierson with AKSO, BC. Lovely recall but loss of position in heelwork and messy pickups on retrieve and scent taking the marks today. Good luck for the future shows 4th Rose De Wulf, with POPPIN, BC. Drifting in heelwork and untidy finishes your main problem did a nice recall. All the best for the rest of the season. 5th Christina Decuypere with JIPSINGER KAIPO, Aust. Shepherd. Bits and pieces in all exercises and handler taking the wrong course the point taker today. Best of luck. 6th Donna Van Den Heule with GOMEZ, BC. Nice heelwork but very untidy recall, retrieve and scent. Also losing points in the sit stay relegating you to this position. All the very best for the future. 7th Gerda Van Nuffel with HAIBO HOME OF BOYCARAS, BC. Handler didn’t realise this was an A class and started off taking to her dog, then a lot of points lost on retrieve and scent put them in this place. Wishing you the best of luck for the future. CLASS: C 2nd Lenie Kasteleijn with COLLIEWOOD CABALLE ‘LA LAYLA’, WS. Best heelwork mark of the day but for the missed position in DC you would have been the winner – but you’ve got to do it all. Best of luck for the future. 3rd Greet Vink with KYRILL VAN BERLARE, BC. This dog lacks confidence in the heelwork at the moment so the handler was waiting for him on the turns – set exercises were executed very nicely. Wishing you all the best for the future. 4th Brigitte Van Gestel with TWICE AS NICE TWIZZLE V.BENVENIDA’S JOY, BC. Missed position in ASSD and DC taking the marks today, but still a creditable round. Well done and good luck 5th Lucie V.D.Casteele with BENJI, BC. Some nice heelwork in parts but sendaway and DC were just too costly. Very best of luck for the rest of the season. 6th Donna Van Den Heule with DEVIL, BC. Very smart retrieve, but a lot of points lost by the handler giving too much away and taking the wrong course in heelwork also a large amount of points lost in sendaway, DC and scent putting you in this position. Good luck. 7th Steven V.Nieuwenhuyze with BUGSY, BC. Extremely smart handler and a very motivated partner making this a lovely team to judge, would have been at the other end of the line up if not for bringing in the incorrect cloth in scent. Best of luck for the future. Judge: ANITA NEAL Hope to see you all again - good luck at the shows and may your dreams come true. Roy & Anita Neal
