First of all we would like to thank Martine Verhoeven and the D.O.S for inviting us over to Belgium to judge. We would also like to thank everyone who was involved with the running of the show; to the stewards, caller – scoreboard - stay and decoy’s you were all great, many thanks to you all.

This is the first Obedience show held in Belgium for over 10 years (the first of many we hope) and we must say Martine and her helpers certainly know how to take care of their overseas judges, we were treated to lovely sunny weather, charming accommodation, good food and most of all the wine flowed freely - we can honestly say the Belgium’s certainly know how to have a good time, in truth we enjoyed ourselves so much we didn’t want to leave but have returned home with wonderful gifts  and hope that one day we will be invited back to do it all again, many thanks for making our stay an enjoyable one – we had a great time with you all.

RESULTS

CLASS: NOVICE

1ST Sandra Pierson with Akso, BC Lost - HW 10 Recall 0.50 Retrieve 1 Total 11.50
Sandra you both worked well as a team and executed the round with ease a very nice round well done.

2ND Henk Eekman with Britt Dana Van’t Olde Salland, Oudduitse-herders Rond. Lost - HW 11 Recall 1 Retrieve 0 Total 12
This team did impress me and was pleasing to watch, I’m sure if you continue to perform and put out the work that you did today you will not be long in this class, good luck.

3RD Rose De Wulf with Poppin, BC. Lost - HW 11.50 Recall 0.50 Retrieve 1 Total 13
Well done on the round and winning the run off for 3rd and 4th place your recall and retrieve are ok you just need to tighten Poppin up in the heelwork position so well done.

4TH Heidi Demon with Darcy, BC. Lost - HW 12.50 Recall 0.50 Retrieve 0 Total 13
It was a tight run off for 3rd and 4th place with only half a point in it, again you just need to tighten Darcy up on heelwork - your set exercises are good, well done.

5TH Donna Van Den Heule with Gomez, BC. Lost - HW 13 Recall 2.50   Retrieve 1.50 Total 17
I’m sure with a little bit more work this team will be fighting for the higher positions. Good luck for the future.

6TH Martine Vernoeven with Fouzy Woozy from Imkes Friends, BC. Lost - HW 8 Recall 0.50
Retrieve 0.50 Stays 8.25 Total 17.25
Hmmm Martine what can I say you handled the round well in all exercises and would have been at the other end of the line up, but for stays, Good luck for the future.

7TH Elly Gebraad with Esperanza Noa Merza, Gos d’Atura Catala. Lost - HW 14 Recall 0 Retrieve 2
Stays 3.25 Total 19.25
This team also needs to tighten up the heelwork, but still a good effort. Well done.

CLASS: A

1st Anneke Hollemans with TWICE, BC. Worked first in the running order, smart handling giving nothing away and a well motivated accurate partner making this team clear winners. Congratulations and good luck in the higher classes.

2nd Nicky Spengler with ELEGANT MAXEL O’THE LITTLE LODGE, Sheltie. Smart handler bringing out the best in her dog, altering position in heelwork the main fault today. Well done and good luck.

3rd Sandra Pierson with AKSO, BC. Lovely recall but loss of position in heelwork and messy pickups on retrieve and scent taking the marks today. Good luck for the future shows

4th Rose De Wulf, with POPPIN, BC. Drifting in heelwork and untidy finishes your main problem did a nice recall. All the best for the rest of the season.

5th Christina Decuypere with JIPSINGER KAIPO, Aust. Shepherd. Bits and pieces in all exercises and handler taking the wrong course the point taker today. Best of luck.

6th Donna Van Den Heule with GOMEZ, BC. Nice heelwork but very untidy recall, retrieve and scent. Also losing points in the sit stay relegating you to this position. All the very best for the future.

7th Gerda Van Nuffel with HAIBO HOME OF BOYCARAS, BC. Handler didn’t realise this was an A class and started off taking to her dog, then a lot of points lost on retrieve and scent put them in this place. Wishing you the best of luck for the future.

CLASS: B

1ST Greet Vink with Kyrill van Beertare, BC. Lost - HW 10.50 SA 1 Retrieve 1 Scent 3 Total 15.50
You both worked well as a team and executed the round with ease a very nice round well done

2ND Anneke Hollemans with Sonja, BC. Lost - HW 14 SA 6.50 Retrieve 1 Scent 0.50 Total 22
This team did impress me and it was pleasing to watch, I am sure if you continue to put out the work that you did in the ring today, you will not be long in this class good luck for the future

3RD Gino De Witte with Encke, BC. Lost - HW 26 SA 3 Retrieve 1 Scent 20 Total 50
Gino the reason you lost these marks was mainly for the extra commands you put in and I could see why you gave them, you will end up being a better team for it so good luck for the future.

 CLASS: C

1st Guus Scholten with COLLIEWOOD VELAZQUES GIOVANNI, WS. Very smart up right handling and a dog that tries his heart out making this team worthy winners, congratulations – what a wonderful partnership.

2nd Lenie Kasteleijn with COLLIEWOOD CABALLE ‘LA LAYLA’, WS. Best heelwork mark of the day but for the missed position in DC you would have been the winner – but you’ve got to do it all. Best of luck for the future.

3rd Greet Vink with KYRILL VAN BERLARE, BC. This dog lacks confidence in the heelwork at the moment so the handler was waiting for him on the turns – set exercises were executed very nicely. Wishing you all the best for the future.

4th Brigitte Van Gestel with TWICE AS NICE TWIZZLE V.BENVENIDA’S JOY, BC. Missed position in ASSD and DC taking the marks today, but still a creditable round. Well done and good luck

5th Lucie V.D.Casteele with BENJI, BC. Some nice heelwork in parts but sendaway and DC were just too costly. Very best of luck for the rest of the season.

6th Donna Van Den Heule with DEVIL, BC. Very smart retrieve, but a lot of points lost by the handler giving too much away and taking the wrong course in heelwork also a large amount of points lost in sendaway, DC and scent putting you in this position. Good luck.

7th Steven V.Nieuwenhuyze with BUGSY, BC. Extremely smart handler and a very motivated partner making this a lovely team to judge, would have been at the other end of the line up if not for bringing in the incorrect cloth in scent. Best of luck for the future.
