Many thanks to the Dutch Obedience Society for asking me to judge at this prestigious show. We were treated like royalty from start to finish and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.
The vast majority of dogs on both days were happy and keen and could show some of our British dogs a thing or two about wanting to work. Many thanks to Michelle and Mary for their excellent company over the weekend. If I get the chance to go over again you will be my first choices to ask to come with me. Thanks to Dave for stewarding and Michelle for scribing impeccably.

Novice.- Scoreboard Mia Bosschaart and Ed Vink Chief stay steward

1st.     Martine Verhoeven with Fouzywouzy from Imkes Friends (BC)
          Very fast keen collie who was so committed to his work. It gave me great pleasure to award first prize to this talented team. Well done.
2nd.    Carola v Tilburg with Luna Tale Gyhro (BC)
         Really nice handling of this lovely dog who held a very good heel position and was happy and stylish throughout the test.
3rd.    Frans de Groot with Quila (Golden Retreiver)
          Very nice bond between this pair. Typical happy goldie who wagged his tail throughout. I really enjoyed watching him.
4th.     Wilma Struijk with Engy Ingo von den  Gansewiesen (Entlebucher Sennenhond)
          I have not judged this breed before but I was very impressed by the work. Super fast keen dog who held a very good position.
5th.    Dona Vandenheule with Quellyane Gomez (BC)
          Very stylish dog showing good potential for the future. Well done
6th.    Danielle Stoutjesdijk with Best Quinten of Clover Corner (BC)
         Huge prospect for the future. Sure to do well.
7th.    Rose Dewulf with Bekkis Yours Faithfully (BC)
          Very attentive happy dog. Another who will do well.

My award for the best prospect in the future went to Helen Braak with Maradonar Echo of Light (BC). My notes say “Fabulous, stylish dog with enormous potential” The little dog was a star.

A really strong class of dogs who all showed enjoyment of their work.
1st.      Guus Scholten with Colliewood Velazquez Giovanni (WS)
           This was a round of sheer class. Super upright handling of this stylish dog. Lovely heelwork , coupled with immaculate set exercises made this a superb winning round. Many congratulations and good luck for the future.
2nd.     Danielle de Jonge with Mikey (WS)
           I really enjoyed judging this very smart team. Sendaway was costly today. Heelwork was very smooth, happy and committed and it’s easy to see how this team have so much success. Best wishes for the future.
3rd.     Annelies v d Velde with Twinkles Laddy Boy (WS)
          Very nice heelwork with fast pace being exceptional. Again sendaway was costly but DC and retrieve were clear. Good teamwork. Good luck with him.
4th.    Steven Vannieuwenhuyse with Bytchek Esquire (BC)
         I really liked this dog. Such a lovely style of heelwork and he was so well handled. One for the future for sure. Good luck with him.
5th.    Mia Bosschart with Mamamia’s Tyke (WS)
         One of the best heelwork marks of the day. Sendaway and a drop on retrieve proved costly. Excellent rappour between these two. All the best for the future.
6th.    Lenie Kasteleijn and Colliewood Caballe La Layla (WS)
         Very nice dog who enjoys his work. Very well handled and deserved to be in the lineup. Well done and good luck for the future.

I was asked to pick a dog for the award for the Most Stylish dog and it gives me great pleasure to hand it to Lenie Kasteleijn with her Groendael Wintergame Obsession. I absolutely loved this dog, his attitude was to die for. His heelwork was so keen and stylish and the sets were fast and committed. Best wishes for the future with this gorgeous dog.
