Judge  Juliette Wettern

Many thanks to Rick for the invite to judge at your show.  We had a wonderful time and we were very well looked after and welcomed by her and her family into their home, thank you. I especially enjoyed the pancake restaurant when we arrived, I still wish I had been able to eat all mine but my eyes were bigger than my tummy (although after this trip my tummy was considerably larger) As big sis said, the diet begins after I have eaten everything I brought home with me!
The venue was truly fantastic, Martin Brouwer had such a vision to convert a farm into a purpose built Dog Centre with every facility, including restaurant, lecture room, agility course and several massive training halls. Its great to hear it is very well used, every day of the week in actual fact and by people from many different dog disciplines. He and his wife Esther work extremely hard running the restaurant, and then preparing the venue for the following week. Very impressive.

Novice

Ring Steward   Jose Flierman
Score steward   IngeDe Graauw

Many thanks to Jose for stewarding for me and to Inge who kept the scores. There was a flow of competitors coming in, so much so that between them I hardly had time to draw breath let alone drink my coffee and go to the loo! You were both really efficient thank you.
I was very impressed with the overall standard in this class. I had very few training rounds, and I was pleased to see most dogs well taught and motivated. I was pleased to see people playing with their dogs between exercises. A few went a bit over the top, as personally I would save the mega reward for the end of the test
I had lots of different breeds which was lovely to see especially as many gave the collies a run for their money, as my results show!

1st  Petra Frijling and Wolves Home Senna, Catalan Sheepdog.
A popular win. Worked first in the running order and set a standard which was not to be beaten. Very accurate work, the dog really knew her position with only very few minor errors. I feel sure the next win won’t be far away on to days performance. Good luck in the higher classes. Very well done.
2nd Helen Braak and Maradonar Echo of Light, BC.
Smart upright handling and a well motivated dog. I think you really knew how to get the best out of your dog. A bit of inverting and dipping in hw but good set exercises, unlucky to meet the above dog today and shouldn’t be in nov for too much longer. Well done.
3rd Jose van der Rande and Sunny from the Magic Sunshine. Cavalier KCSpan,
Wow, what a really cracking little dog. Just slight loss of position in hw, and a bit of a messy ret which can easily be sorted. Really keen little dog I was very impressed with, I think you also got a place in A. Well done.
4th  Heidi Demon and Bonnieblu Godarcy, BC
Nice hw, but turns need to be tightened up a bit which would improve an already very nice picture. Retrieve p/up needs to be more careful. Very nice though. Well done.
5th Henk Eekman and Britt Dara van’t Olde Salland, Dutch Herder
Heel free was the most costly today, loss of position and loose turns but good set exercises . Nice to see a different breed doing well in obedience. Well done.

6th Arlet Geenen Ion Lafs off van Daelenbroek, Boxer.
Most marks lost today for drifting in hw which was a real shame as you could see the potential in this dog. Lovely clear set exercises though. Well done.

7th Rick van Veeren and Sealight it’s a Magic Miracle, BC
What a little pickle she is! I know you get frustrated with her as she is really capable of so much better as she has already proved to you. Hw needs tightening up but excellent sets, get hw sorted and you will be at the other end of the line-up. Well done on this place though.

Class B

Steward  Krist Crommen
Score       Greet Vink

Thanks to Krist for stewarding for me today, you did a really great job. Greet did a simply fantastic job on the scoreboard today, with several stay breaks and scent failures it really took some concentration. I am very grateful to you.
There was an assortment of dogs today some of which were well and truly ready to be moving on out of this class and made the whole thing look easy, and some who were still quite new to B. Unfortunately my lead dogs who were really streets ahead of the rest had stay problems, which goes to show it isn’t all over til stays and scent are done!

1st Anneke Hollemans-v Buren and Quellyana Benvenida BC
Well done on your win, lying 5th going into stays I’m sure you didn’t expect to win. Good ret, slight hes on drop on sendaway, and a beautiful scent to finish off. Hw needs some work and be careful of those shoulder movements on your lefts and labts. Well done.

2nd Henk Eekman and Borders for Joy Freedom of Faith. BC
Very accurate hw, with just minor bit to mark, ret was a little messy. I would have liked to see a little more commitment going out to the send away, something that can be worked on. Stays were what lost you the class today which is a real shame as this dog is ready for C. Hard luck but still well done on this place.

3rd  Sandra Pierson Akso Pierson BC.
Sendawy was costly today, extra commands and an early drop due to a stop, I’m sure it can be improved on. Hw needs tightening up in order to progress, and unfortunately stays also took their toll. Well done on this place.

4th Timoty de Cleijn Bono of Geronimo’s Tribe. Large Munsterlander.
Cracking round and was lying 2nd  with only an quarter  of a point between you and the leader going into stays, then, alas it all went horribly wrong in the down. I really liked this dog and was sorry to see you at this end of the line, but im sure your day will come, he is really ready to move on. Well done.

5th Rick van Veeren and Sealight It’s a Magic Miracle, BC
After Rick had a little word with magic in the hw she pulled her socks up a bit, she knows what she can get away with. Good ret and send away, and one of only 2 clear stays in this class. If she hadn’t failed scent she would have been much higher up the line. Well done.

6th Martine Verhoeven and Fouzy Wouzy from Imkes Friends. BC
Quite a lot of crabbing on hw, and be careful of that shoulder signal which is an unnecessary way to lose marks. Another stay casualty, and a naughty messy scent to round off with.

Thank you all for accepting my decisions and good luck to you all for the forthcoming season. It was nice to see some people again who do not come to England that often, you are a good friendly lot and made us feel very welcome. Thank you.
