JUDGES REPORT SHOW: DUTCH OBEDIENCE SOCIETY DATE: 23 October 2010 JUDGE: Mrs Stella Henstridge My thanks to Rick for the invitation to Judge at your show, organised on behalf of the Dutch Obedience Society. Sue and I were well looked after by Rick and John in their very comfortable home and had an enjoyable weekend. The show was held inside at the Dog Centre with very spacious rings. There is always a very good atmosphere at the shows with all competitors appearing to enjoy the day and working their dogs. My thanks also to my stewards Ellen and Paul for Novice and Steven and Bennie for class B who all did an excellent job. Novice 1ST Bernou ter Voorde with NAMASTE HOPE, Border Collie. A very good round with few errors heel on lead. A little wide at times Heel free, even so very neat work. Shuffled on present on recall and slightly anticipated the finish on retrieve, but overall a neat performance. Very well handled. Well done and congratulations on your win. 2ND Christina Decuypere with JIPSINGER KAIPO, Australian Shepherd. Put in a creditable round of heelwork just had a tendency to go wide at times and a little lazy on some left turns. Very good recall, only a slight crooked present and a clear retrieve. Well done on your place. 3RD Mijam va den Broek with Z JOE Border Collie Very good heel on lead but a little loose heel free with one bad about turn. Just a crooked finish on recall and crooked present on retrieve. 5TH Marie-Christine Vanuxem with TAO THE TWO FACED DOG, Working Sheepdog. Good Heelwork again needs attention on left turns. Was left in the down for recall but lifted and then sat up before he was called, sort this and he will be a lot further up the line up. 6TH Ester Brouwer with BEST MIGHTY MIKE OF CLOVERS CORNER, Border Collie. Needs to tighten up in heelwork especially on turns. Both presents and finishes were messy on recall and retrieve.
