THE DUTCH OBEDIENCE SOCIETY
Many thanks to Lucie and the Dutch Obedience Society for inviting me back to judge at ‘s-Gravenpolder along with Shirley Clowes. Your hospitality was once again fabulous. This was a great venue inside the sports hall but the floor proved a little slippy for some dogs especially when doing the retrieve.
I thought the standard was very high and a pleasure to judge with many dogs capable of taking first place.
Special thanks to Lucie and Benie for looking after us and being such perfect hosts again, the food was delicious.
Thanks to Ingrid and Tiny for being excellent stewards and Carola and Ellen on the scoreboards.
The results of the classes are as follows:-
CLASS A (Entries 23. – Ran 23). (Morning)
Ring Stewards:- Ingrid Eekman
Scoreboard :- Ellen Reijenga
1st Ineke Happée with Nice of You to Come Bye Love Story Skeezer (Border Collie). Super attention and attitude in the heelwork from Skeezer, a very neat round with little to mark. Just need to watch mouthing with the dumbbell and scent cloths. Congratulations on your win and good luck for the future.
2nd José Flierman with Nice of You to Come Bye be Clever (Border Collie).
Another neat round just losing attention slightly on left turns and a crooked sit on retrieve. Slight anticipation on scent. Well done on your place and good luck for the future.
3rd Petra Frijling with Senna (Gos d'Atura).
Senna worked so much better in this class than in novice. Great attention and attitude to work, just lost position coming out of the about and left turns. Had a little skid on retrieve but very capable of winning this class. Well done and good luck.
4th Margreet Mijnsbergen with Djinga from the Go-Getters (Golden Retriever).
Another team in contention today with lovely attention, a couple of crooked sits and slowing on the turns or could have been higher up. Heelwork much better in the run off. Well done and good luck.
5th Frans de Groot with Quila (Golden Retriever).
Nice attention from Quila today a very happy retriever. Just needs to work a little tighter in the heelwork especially on the about turns. Crooked present on retrieve. Only dog to do clear scent. Ran off with above dog. Well done and good luck.
6th Daphne Geerlings with Yirr-ma Bashyr of the Two Chestnuts (Australian Kelpie).
Very neat round from this team, losing attention in places lost the marks especially on left turns. Plus need to tighten up a little more. Good sets. Well done and good luck.
7th Marie Vanuxem with Tao the Two Faced Dog (Border Collie).
Another steady round from this team. Tao tends to slow down and drift slightly especially on his about turns sort this out and he could be higher up. Skidded on retrieve plus crooked sit lost you the run off with above. Well done and good luck.
Lots of very positive training rounds in this class as well. So well done.
CLASS NOVICE (Entries 31. – Ran 28). (Afternoon)
Ring Stewards:- Tiny Bouchaut.
Scoreboard :- Carola van Tilburg.
1st Sandra Buitendijk with Mischievous Independent Indy (Mechelse Herder).
This powerful dog produced an absolutely stunning round. Very accurate and little to mark could easily win a higher class. Sandra has really trained this dog well. A very worthy winner congratulations on your win and good luck for the future.
2nd Ineke Happée with Nice of You to Come Bye Love Story Skeezer (Border Collie).
Heelwork not as polished as your round this morning, but still very neat and accurate. Unfortunate to meet the winner. Again watch the mouthing with the dumbbell. Well done and good luck for the future.
3rd Karola Beckers with Daisy Dee Flower of Shamrockfield (Border Collie)’
This enthusiastic little collie held an excellent position on the straights but tends to crab a little coming out of the turns. Work on these and she will do better. Sets were excellent. Well done and good luck.
4th Henk Eekman with Britt Dara van 't Olde Salland (Duitse Herder).
Lovely GSD that produced a very steady round. Just need to work on her attention coming out of all the turns as she tends to lose her confidence causing her to lag a little. Slight anticipation on retrieve. Well done and good luck.
5th Marie Vanuxem with Tao the Two Faced Dog (Border Collie).
Tao worked a little better than this morning. Just losing position slightly again on the left turns. Slight anticipation on recall. Unfortunate to drop the dumbbell in the run off. Well done on this place and good luck.
6th Sylvia Vos-Scheers with Roxy Romie v.d. Zwarte Bellenhoeve (Kooikerhondje).
Good attention from this little dog. Need to watch your line across the diagonal. Would have been higher up the class if you have not repositioned the sit after heel free. Good sets. Well done and good luck.
7th Evy de Fonvent with Yenka (Border Collie).
Accurate round from this team, just a little wide on the about turns which caused loss of position and lagging. Good recall but shame about the stop to have a good shake in retrieve. Well done.
Commiserations to Bianca and Romy (Australian Kelpie) who were lying second till stays when she lost her confidence a little. Plus must mention Frans with Indy (Yorkshire Terrier) did a training round but what a talented little dog with fab attention and attitude.
Finally, thank you to all the competitors for accepting my decisions and making my day so enjoyable.
Carol Belsten.
