My sincere thanks to Trudy and Angela for the invitation to judge and for their kind and fun hospitality throughout our stay in Trudy’s home. As usual Karen and I left the Netherlands at least two stone heavier than when we arrived with our stomachs full too bursting.
Thanks also to Guus my B steward and Hans my C steward. Barjo and Paul score stewards.
Congratulation Guus and Paul on your marriage in November.
We had a very mixed standard in this class, with 7 dogs doing stays from which we had 3 break.
1st Brigitte van Gestel and Joyful Life van Benvenida's Joy (Border Collie)
A well deserved win. Well done Brigitte this win, I hear, it takes you out of ‘B’.
The dog shows great potential for the future in class ‘C’, having a sound understanding of the basics and for all that is required in ‘B’. She works with flair and drive in all excersises. Super clean, crisp heelwork. Won the class easily despite loosing 5.75 on the sit stay.
2nd José Flierman and Nice of You to Come Bye be Clever (Border Collie)
Neat heelwork with a little drifting. Marks lost on sendaway and retrieve were expensive, but didn’t stop you rising to the top end of the class.
3rd Cees Groen and Nice of you to come bye Keen Kite (Border Collie)
This team matched the winner’s heelwork. I was left with very little to mark. Happy and keen with smart balanced turns. The lack of commitment and self-drop (short) in sendaway took a massive toll on your score.
4th Rose Dewulf and Bekkis Yours Faithfully (Border Collie)
Drive and commitment from both dog and handler completed a picture of teamwork at its best. The dog has a lovely style about him coupled with a good understanding of his heelwork position. What a shame about ‘that’ sendaway.
5th Christina Decuypere and Jipsinger Kaipo (Australian Shepherd)
Well done on making the line up. Work needed on all excersises.
6th Rineke Smit and Tika Jillaroo Uluru (Australian Kelpie)
A very good round overall. Excellent heelwork. Unfortunately a broken Sit stay took 19 points. I wish you luck with your super dog.
7th Anneke Hollemans and Quebey's Boy Twice van Benvenida's Joy (Border Collie)
A super dog that, with continued correct training, should have a bright future.

1st Melissa Vercauter and Demma of the Action Farm (Tervuerense Herder)
Many congratulations Melissa and Emma on your first ‘C’ win. This must give you a real boost of confidence for the World Cup competition at Crufts this year and so it should. You have much improved since I last saw you work.
Your heelwork was tight and precise, Emma executing her turns without loosing position going in and coming out.
Whatever you are doing in your training now its working. Best of luck to you at Crufts.
2nd Steven Vannieuwenhuyse and Bytchek Esquire (Border Collie)
‘Middle aged spread’ was the cause of Bugsy’s downfall today according to Steven.
Nevertheless he still produced a round to be proud of. Piped at the post by his World Cup
Team-mate above. Good luck at Crufts.
3rd Mia Bosschaart and Mamamia´s Tyke (Working Sheepdog)
Fabulous heelwork as one would expect from this team unfortunately missed the down position in ASSD. It was a privilege to judge you.
4th Henk Eekman and Borders for Joy Freedom of Faith (Border Collie)
This dog is utterly fabulous, Good looking, bags of drive, loads of style, totally honest and deadly accurate. I’m afraid 90% of the marks lost were by the handler, If you were strict with yourself Henk you and your dog would make a formidable team. I wish you lots of luck for the future.
5th Martine Verhoeven and Comanchero of the Two Roses (Dobermann)
As they say too many bits and pieces in all exercises kept this handsome dobe from the top spot today.
6th Bianca van der Post and Generous Genial Ginny (Australian Kelpie)
Lovely heelwork from this Kelpie but Bianca you change pace on your turns. Slow pace requires slow turns ect. Errors in DC and ASSD were expensive.
7th Bianca van der Post and Nice of you to Come Bye Eager Wizard (Border Collie)
Similar remarks as above. The problems were in the same exercises with the heelwork test carried out very well.
Commiseration’s to
Guus and Gio. Incredible ring work then broke sit stay, as did
Trudy and Guinness.
Angela and Clooney.
We had some really good teams in the ring today. Some working some doing training rounds, which I applaud. Dogs aren’t machines. If done correctly training rounds can boost a dog’s confidence, it’s all ‘money in the bank’ as far as I’m concerned and long may training rounds continue.
