Many thanks to Benny, Peter, Krist and especially Brigitte for the kind invitation and hospitality to visit Holland for the first time. The weather if anything was too hot but the cold drinks flowed every few minutes. Sincere thanks to Brigitte for putting up with us and treating us like royalty nothing was too much trouble and it was a brilliant weekend. Thanks to all stewards who were very helpful when they knew I had a gammy leg and did everything to save me walking too far. As in England the standard was mixed but very similar and the results are:-
NOVICE. Steward Tinie Bouchout Scoreboard Karin Lund
1st. a.r.o Karin Slegmeijer and Absolutely Fabulous McCoy (WS) McCoy was very aptly named as absolutely fabulous he was. The run off was even better than the original round superbly handled by Karin and hardly markable. I was really impressed by this young ladies attitude to her dog and our sport and I feel she genuinly doesn't realise how good the dog and her handling is. Should go on to better things as was only the dogs second time in the ring.
2nd. a.r.o. Bianca v.d.Post and My Precious Romy Dinky Di Dutch (Kelpi) When Romy first worked I didn't think he would be beaten but was really unlucky to meet the above as he flagged a little in the run off but Bianca was so sporting and realised she had lost the runoff, in fact she told me. Fabulous dog destined for greater things.
3rd. Jacqueline Verscherum and Best Know Me of Clover Corner (BC). One of the 3 dogs this lady worked. The names cracked me up as they were knowme, seeme and feelme enough said lol. A lovely round to judge and another very sporting handler. HOL took most marks but will surely win on another day.
4th. Leni Obbink and Absolutely Fabulous Josje (WS). Josje is a lovely dog slightly over the top today which threw away a few points but very good luck for future shows.
5th. Esther Bronwer and Best Jimmy of Clover Corner (BC) Beautiful set exercises from Jimmy but heelwork not quite up to the standard of the above. Having said this he could hold his own in any class.
6th.Jacqueline Verschuren and Absolutely Fabulous Seen Me (WS). Handled by Trudy and worked very similar to her stable mate. Heelwork again taking most marks but tighten this and the marks would be a lot closer. Good Luck.
7th. Evy de Forwent and Yenka (BC) Heelwork a little loose but very nicely handled by Evy. Well done.
Thankyou everyone for you entries and your sporting attitudes and especially to Tinie and Karin for brilliant stewarding and running round after me.
B round.
Ring Steward Ellen Reijenga, Scoreboard Marian deJong and decoy Karin Spanhaale.
A very small class unfortunately spoilt by many stay breaks and scent failures.
1st. Marianne v.d. Ster and Amazing Yoda of Albions March (BC) Losing 6. Stunning sendaway from Yoda most marks lost on normal pace but good set exercises. Well done on this win which I understand makes you C only.
2nd.Kees Groen and Mitch (BC) losing 6 3/4. Again good set exercises and unlucky to meet the above but well done on this place. I did mark you on a couple of head signals the one in s/a was very pronounced.
3rd.Christina Decuypere and Jipsinger Kaipo (ASD) losing 27. Kaipos heelwork was very loose today and and the deviation on sendaway was very costly but still good enough to take 3rd place well done.
4th.Jenke Labots and Joyful Stepping v.Benvedidas Joy (BC) losing 34 1/2. Without ntaking anything away from the above this was my dog of the class unfortunately Dean decided to pick up the wrong cloth very confidently bless him. Unlucky Jenke he's lovely.
5th.Rick v.Vereen and Sealight it's a Magic Miracle (BC) losing 66 1/4 Magic decided if you are going to get it wrong you may as well do it wholeheartedly culminating with a scent failure. Rick didn't seem to mind and obviously just adores her dog however naughty. Good for you Rick.
6th. Gino Dewitte and My Sweet Devils Eye Encke (BC) losing 78 1/2 A very expensive retrieve and a scent failure relegated the only man in the line up to minor honours but you can't let all the ladies beat you.
Ellen was worried as she hadn't stewarded a B before but she handled it like a professional.
Thanks again to all concerned for a super weekend and good luck to you all and your lovely dogs. We all take the best one home don't we. |
