Place: Lewedorp
Class: Pre-Beginners, Beginners & C
Judge: Andrea Little

My sincere thanks to Steve for asking me to join him to judge at Lewedorp. To say I was excited was an understatement and what a fantastic show and weekend it was. Even my fear of flying wouldn’t stop me ( sorry Diane if there are any bruises on his arms, but the take off was a bit too scary).
We were so well looked after by Edd and Greet, I can’t thank them enough for their superb hospitality, they couldn’t do enough for us and I have put on several pounds. I will even let Edd off for not believing I am 23 ( may tell you the truth next time Edd).
Thanks to everyone for making the whole weekend so special you were a fantastic group of people.
As for the show I have to thank those who helped me throughout the 3 classes. Hans who stewarded the Pre Beg and C you were fab. Anja her first time stewarding Beginners you did a sterling job.
Paul looked after the scoreboard all day, what a gem you are, you sorted it all out and made the day much easier. Your humour was brilliant throughout the day.
So sorry that we brought the rain with us for the show, it was lovely to see different dogs but unfortunately the local bird scarer did scare a lot more than the birds. Several good teams were badly affected by this which was such a shame.

Pre – Beginners

1st Lia Baars Shanto’s Silke (Duitse herder)
The recall was the winning factor between this team and the second place dog. Although this dog went very wide, Lia was able to get control again very well. Will need to work much harder though in Beginners.

2nd 67 Ronald Corniere ( Gizmo) - Sorry no other details on sheet
This was your first show and I know that you are now changing your way of training to help motivate your dog more. Gizmo was lagging today but I don’t think the bird scarer helped. Your play inbetween exercises was brilliant to watch. Keep up the good work.

3rd 63 Els Vidts Illamar Lisa of Rum Jungle (Australian Cattle Dog)
This little girl is so lovely but very naughty. She tends to nip badly at Els hands. Els did use the hand touch a lot so lost a lot of points but she is trying to help her dog to gain confidence. I hope that she stops that nipping or you may have no fingers left.

BEGINNERS

1st Germaine Prins Jerome Marajuyo (Groenendaeler)
WOW! What a team this is going to be. Stunning heelwork, hardly put a paw wrong. Very minor losses on turns but that is all. A team that I am sure will have an extremely good future.

2nd Nel de Groene Arno ( Lab)
Another team that also produced a very creditable round. Arno is a cool guy whose main losses were on heel free. He looks to be quite a character. His set exercises were perfect. Well done.

3rd Inge de Graauw Borders for Joy Infinite Fidelity (BC)
Another team were I wrote on my sheet a great prospect. Heelwork again was of a very high standard. Unfortunately, the sit stay was your downfall otherwise there wasn’t much between you and the winner.

4th Vanessa Hertecant Jenson v. Santamar (Duitse Herder)
Another super heelwork round (whatever you are all doing on your heelwork over there it is working well). Set exercises did let you down today as well as your stays. Get working on these and you will go far.

5th Lia Baars Shanto’s Silke (Duitse Herder)
Oh dear, this time it was all a bit too much and on retrieve your dog disappeared to the tent. You need to work much harder to keep the attention on you and not others.

6th Jeanette Wesselius-Vos Fennah of Infinite Dreams (Lab)
Unfortunately, broke both sets of stays so that was far too costly. Overall it needs to be tightened up a bit. Keep up the good work.

7th Judith Lerno Tia van’t Vijuleum (BC)
This little dog is deaf and did really struggle today. On retrieve it took off and had a good ole run round. Again you need to work on more attention and plenty of reward to keep its focus on you.

Class C

1st Guus Scholten COLLIEWOOD VELAZQUEZ GIOVANNI (WS)
This team came in and took the round by storm, calm smooth handling brought out the best in this dog. This dog has been off work for a while but came bouncing back. A very strong keen dog but maintains a very straight heelwork position. Well done.

2nd Gwen Griffioen WYNDANWOOD PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER (ASD)
Another very smart team who mainly lost points on their turns today. The set exercises were really well executed. Well done.

3rd Greet Vink KYRILL v. BERLAERE (BC)
Well Greet Kyrill worked really well today but such a shame that he was one of many who was upset over the gas gun in the field. The extra commands needed to get him back were costly. A lovely worker and a pleasure to judge you.

4th Trudy Groenenboom COLLIEWOOD CRAZY LEGS GUINNESS (WS)
Guinness is a lovely dog who did daft silly little errors today. He needed two commands to go out on his retrieve. His mum needs to watch out for her body movements on the ASSD positions. Main marks lost on heelwork was for crabbing try to straighten him up as he is such a nice dog.
5th Mia Bosschaart MAMAMIA’S TYKE (WS)
What a shame, your heelwork was stunning but the ASSD positions were extremely costly today. This could have been such a different story.

6th Ineke Happee BRIGHT SHE SHALL BE v.d. WILBAM (BC)
Normal pace was very costly this needs tightening up a bit. Also watch your hand as it did move on heelwork. Set exercises very nicely executed.

7th Rick v. Veeren SEALIGHT FLASH OF LIGHTENING (BC)
Points were lost all round from Flash, DC and ASSD were very expensive. Only minor errors on heelwork but unfortunately it all added up.
