Thank you again to the Dutch Obedience Society for inviting Stella and me to judge at another of their shows.  This the first indoor show for the winter season and the venue is spacious with excellent facilities.  The sports hall floor can be a little slippery and a number of the dogs struggled with this at some time during the day.
We were so well looked after from the time we arrived until we left.  Nothing was too much trouble.  A huge thank you to Mellissa’s Mum who made us so comfortable and welcome into her home.  To our willing and excellent stewards, stay team, and all helpers.  To Hans who is to retire from stewarding this year.  Enjoy your well deserved rest.
As usual the dogs are all well motivated but the change to indoors made some less attentive due to the background noises and others found it quite exciting, so did not concentrate so well.  Scent and stays, unusually, took their toll changing the results dramatically.
Those who rose to the top gaining the places were;

Class B

1st        Bernou ter Voorde with B/C NAMASTE HOPE OF LIZZY.  Dog and handler put everything together with very little to mark on the set exercises and a high standard of heelwork.  Well done and many congratulations.
2nd       Helen Braak with B/C MARADONAR ECHO OF LIGHT.  Such a good looking dog and excellently handled.  Just lost a little too much on scent to hold onto the winning slot.  Best sendaway of the day, straight, committed and dog dropped at the marker.
3rd        Elly Kooyman with B/C ROUND ROBIN GHALIB.  Stunning heelwork, by far the best of the class, but a short drop on sendaway was expensive.  Will no doubt win another time.
4th        Henk Eekman with GSD BRITT DARA VAN’T OLDE SALLABD.  Gaining confidence since I last say this dog, started well in heelwork but then dropped back as the round progressed.  Scent was good but failing to get the cloth back securely lost a few points.
5th        Heidi Demon with B/C BONNIEBLUE GODARCY.  A pretty dog holding a good heel position but the handler spins some turns so the dog tends to race and so lose position.  Super sendaway and good retrieve but another costly scent.
6th        Rick van Veeren with B/C SEALIGHT IT’S A MAGIC MIRACLE.  Super sendaway, but wide working in heelwork lost just too many points to gain a higher place, but only recently out of Novice so can still improve.
7th        Timothy de Cleyn with Lg Munsterlander BONO OF GEROMINO’S TRIBE.  This dog could do so well but some very expensive errors need to be addressed in training.

Class C

1st        Henk Eekman with B/C BORDERS FOR JOY FREEDOM OF FAITH.  Wow!  What a superb round, handler and dog working as a complete team giving so little away.  A Clear winner and so well deserved.  Many congratulations.
2nd       Steven Vannieuwenhuyse with B/C BYTCHEK ESQUIRE.  Dog and handler are now so well tuned and their successes over recent months speak for themselves.  I feel the floor caused some of the heelwork errors due to smart pace at which this team work.
3rd        Melissa Vercauter with Terv. DEMMA OF THE ACTIONFARM.  A Good working partnership, with no serious faults but just a few too many to gain a higher place.  Once Melissa feels more confident with herself I’m sure the dog will respond.
4th        Mia Bosschaart with W/S MAMAMIA’S TYKE.  What a good dog he has been, so consistent over the years.  A second command was needed to send the dog in retrieve and finishing well short on sendaway this time though.
5th        Rick van Veeren with B/C SEALIGHT FLSH IF LIGHTENING.  Still going strong at 11 years old.  In fact Rick struggles to keep up with him, but he does enjoy his work so why not continue for as long as he can.
6th        Ineke Happee with B/C BRIGHT SHE SHALL BE v.d WILBAM.  The only clear retrieve of the class, and an excellent scent to complete their test, but points lost due to an erratic heel position and missed positions in heelwork and DC.
7th        Elly Kooyman with B/C ROUND ROBIN GHALIB.  This keen dog needed a longer to settle into the atmosphere of the day so a lack of concentration resulted in most of the points lost.  Much better in the B in the afternoon.
