I would like to thank the committee of The Dutch Obedience Society for very kindly inviting us to judge. Everybody was very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere. I would also like to thank Rick and her husband for collecting us from the airport, putting us up and entertaining us all week-end. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Janet Aldridge
Thank you must also go to my excellent steward – Cees Groen and table score board Paul v. Dijk . You both did a super job.Now to the results:-
CLASS B
1st.Jose Flierman with Nice of you to come bye be Clever. B.C. This was the first dog to work and have a score on the board. A lovely bright sharp and well motivated dog. Fabulous attention and an all round good performance. Just lost ½. on s/a, ½. On r/t and 5 ½. On h/w. A very worthy winner and I believe your last B win so all the very best in C!
2nd. Bernou ter Voode with Namaste Hope of Lizzy. B.C.
Another very nicely motivated dog but very different from the previous one. Lovely h/w/ but lost a little on s/a on the position and deviation. Very well done on this place.
3rd. Elly Kooyman with Round Robin Ghalib B.C. This lady was only ½. A mark behind the 2nd. Placed dog. Super s/a and r/t but a bit noisy in the h/w. It’s a shame because he was trying so hard to please! Very well done.
4th. Rick v.Veeren with Sealight it’s a Magic Miracle B.C. Once again super set exercises but the h/w/ was a bit drifty. I’m sure Magic could do a lot better which must be very frustrating for you but keep at it and I’ll look forward to seeing you in the summer! Well done.
5th. Esther Brouwer with Best Jimmy of Clover Corner B.C. The r/t let you down today with a dropped article and 2 extra commands. Once again a good s/a but drifty h/w. Well done.
6th. Rineke Smit with Tika Jillaroo Uluru A.K. This was a lovely bright little Kelpie with super attention. Fabulous s/a and r/t and not bad h/w but unfortunately lost marks in the sit stay. Sort the stays and you could be the other end of the line up! Well done.
7th. Ivonne v.d. Meer with ABfAB Irausquinn W.S. Unfortunately, the only scent failure relegated you to this place! A good s/a and nice h/w but spoilt a little by noise. Well done.
I had 13 dogs entered and 7 competed. The others all did training rounds. I don’t mind training rounds at all but I do feel that a lot of you didn’t actually train! Perhaps you felt under pressure in a ring situation, I don’t know, but you should be consistent with your dogs in what you ask. On the whole I thought all the dogs were well motivated and the set exercises were good. All the very best in the future.
CLASS C Steward Hans Bilius Scorer Paul v.Dijk
1st. Guus Scholten with Colliewood Velazquez Giovanni W.S. Well what can I say? This was the master at work! A beautifully schooled performance of pure obedience with just the correct amount of motivation to let you know that this was a very special partnership at work. The best I’ve seen from this pair and I wish you all the very best when you come over to England next year. On this performance you deserve a ticket. Very well done. It was a pleasure to judge you.
2nd. Henk Eekman with Borders for joy Freedom of Faith B.C. A very nice dog but bits and pieces lost in each exercise. An anticipation from the s/a was costly but never the less a good place. Well done.
3rd. Mia Bosschaart with Mamamia’s Tyke W.S. A nice round from Tyke but forward movement on d/c cost you the higher place. Well done.
4th. Greet Vink with Kyrill v. Berlaere B.C. A lovely h/w/ round from this pair but bits lost on all the set exercises. Just basic things really that at this level should be eliminated. Well done on this place.
5th. Rick v. Veeren with Sealight Flash of Lightening B.C. Well Rick Flash did you proud! Clear d/c. losing a bit on r/t through excitement which is not bad at his age! And a creditable s/a and h.w round. He is a lovely dog well done.
6th.Steven Vannieuwenhuyse with Bytchek Esquire B.C. This was a striking looking black and white collie and I really liked him. He did a good h/w round but lost 4 on d.c for foreward movement and 3 on s/a with a slow down and anticipation and the 2 ½. on scent. All this detrcts from the good h/w which is a shame. However, I feel he has great promise and I wish you all the best with him.
7th. Annemarie Ibelings with Absolutely Fabulous Phoebe W.S. A missed position in d.c. was very costly today. The rest of the round was quite nice so without the missed position you would be much higher up thye cards. Well done on this place.
I had 24 entries in this class but only 10 dogs had a score as the others trained! A big thank you to my steward, Hans Bilius who did a super job and also again to Paul v. Dijk for keeping scores. I had a lovely day in a super venue, indoors. Many thanks to you all for entering under me.

1st Yvonne de Brucker-Hollyoak with Glen Morangie BC
Well motivated dog and sympathetically handled by owner. Super heelwork and attention. Last dog to work, great performance to finish the class. Pts lost 2. Should do well when you come to England next year.
2nd Jannis v Heuven-Kuiper with Csardas Pts lost 3.25 Nice to see another breed in the winning line. This dog has improved tremendously from last year when the dog completely altered in the ring. Both dog and handler were more confident and now happy to work in competition. Well done keep up your hard work.
3rd Anda de Baerdemaeker with Fjurdyhoeve Djinfaye BC Thought this dog was my winner only faults in heelwork on the lead was little bit of anticipation at start and crooked sit at end, all other heelwork was perfect, unfortunately this was not repeated in the heelfree. Won run off with next dog.
Pts lost 3.75
4th Ester Brouwer with Best Jimmy of Clover Corner BC Another well motivated dog but his keenness caused crabbing at the start of the test. Potential is there just needs bringing out and controlling. Best of luck in future shows.
5th Rineke Smit with Sundae Black Kelly Working Kelpie Another dog who could not perform to the same standard when not on thee lead and who liked to present through the legs. All fault5s in the heelwork were caused through over enthusiasm which is a good fault. Pts lost 6.75
6th Ardie Spoorenberg with Jobsons Cool Copper Clive BC
Good attention throughout the heelwork and very motivated dog, handler’s commands were well timed. Practice needed on the finishes in recall and retrieve exercises. Pts lost 7.
7th Bianca Gerritse with Lucky Player Dinky-di-Dutch Australian Kelpie. Messy retrieve cost you a higher place. Tidy up your handling, not walking on and not stopping on turns and I am sure you could improve your position in this class.
I had some very good dogs who were obviously having problems with stays. It was pleasing to see you trained the stays to give your dogs the confidence they need for this exercise.
CLASS A Steward Gerdien Score Various people
14 entered 12 ran
1st Anda de Baerdemaeker with Fjurdyhoeve Djinfaye BC
Pts lost 4.5 Obviously a morning dog. Dog worked superbly compensating for the extra commands the handler was making. Well deserved win and well done for also coming third in Novice.
2nd Sandra Buitendijk with Mischievous Independent Indy Malinois Pts lost 4.75
Very stylish dog, a pleasure to watch and judge unfortunately the retrieve cost you more than 50% of the marks and also the first place. Better luck next time.
3rd Heidi Demon with Bonnieblue Godarcy BC Pts lost 6
Very motivated and excited dog which caused him to be very vocal and lost points. Keep him quiet and you could easily win this class.
4th Mia Bosschaat withAbfab Yukon BC Pts lost 8.25
Well handled by this experienced competitor but again the dog was too excited and was jumping and touching the hand. I am sure you will control this when you are ready.
5th Rick van Veeren with Sealight it’s a Magic Miracle BC Pts lost 9.25 Like most of our dogs this dog does not perform to his full potential in the ring. Outside he is attentive and works close, in the ring he was distracted and going wide. He is a super dog who could go far, keep up the training he will soon get the message.
6th Wouterien Koops with Best Caya of Clover Corner BC pts lost 24.25 only losing 6.75 before stays. Need to concentrate on the stay exercises as these are very costly.
7th Sandra Pierson with Gowan of Wendevick Home BC losing 29.25 pts Although the ring work was not good a good scent gave you this place. The competition is not finished until all tests are completed so well done on your achievement.
Thank you all for making me feel at home, it is always a pleasure to come and judge at your shows. Your hospitality is first class.
See you at Crufts.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Janet and myself.
