Op zondag 10 maart werd the Crufts World Cup Obedience 2013 gehouden.
Keurmeester was dit jaar Maurice Yates.
En wat een wedstrijd was het, met een "suspense" einde. Nadat alle teams alle oefeningen hadden volbracht werd er druk gerekend. En nog eens gerekend en nog een keer opnieuw gerekend. De prijsuitreiking bleef maar uit.
Er werd zenuwachtig heen en weer gelopen door het Judging team, de chief steward, assistent chief steward en er werd overleg gepleegd met enkele team managers. Op de tribune gonsde het van de geruchten tot opeens de ring opnieuw werd opgebouwd.
Voor het eerst in de historie van de World Cup waren twee teams op de eerste plaats geëindigd, waardoor er een run-off nodig was tussen Nederland en Engeland.
Volgens de reglementen moeten dan de reserves van beide teams de arena in om de winst te bepalen. Zo gebeurde het ook. Annelies van de Velde met Luka moest het opnemen tegen een echte obedience champion Phil Barnes met Bheinn Bewitched. Omdat de resultaten van de run-off niet bekend werden gemaakt was het wachten tot de prijsuitreiking. Met alle teams op het groene tapijt, kondigde speaker Gerard Paisley aan: The winner is........ en toen klonk het Wilhelmus.
Nederland was voor de vierde maal winnaar van "the World Cup".
